At the beginning of this year, my friend Kate and I had an idea that would marry what we do with our Day in the Life family sessions with weddings– A Day in the Life Wedding. It is a photojournalist wedding to the extreme! 15+ hours, the perspective of a wedding day from both the bride and grooms perspective. I put it out there on Facebook and got connected with Hannah. It was sort of amazing icing on the cake that her wedding brought us out to beautiful Syracuse, NY too! (It was over 115 in Phoenix on Hannah’s wedding day!) From the moment I met her and heard her vision of the day, I knew this was going to be an amazing wedding.

Hannah and Kevin’s wedding was filled with so much heart. Everything reflected them from being wed on the campus of Syracuse University where Kevin graduated and in Hedricks Chapel where he was sworn into the military. The reception was held in their grandparents backyard, a place that filled Kevin’s childhood. And what a sight it was when Kevin’s grandparents were the last ones dancing during the Anniversary Dance- 61 years of marriage- just minutes after Hannah and Kevin danced for the first time as husband and wife!

We spent a total of 15 hours with these two, documenting their day from the moment they woke up till the last hours of the night. Hannah and her girls started the morning with yoga while the guys hung out on the porch laughing and eating pizza.

Kevin spent the day at his father’s house. Slowly throughout the morning, his groomsmen came and joined him.
