I have know William’s family, specifically his sister, since I married my husband. William’s mother, Susie, volunteers at a Bible study I attended and has cared for each of my children weekly over the years. So, when William got engaged and began a search for a wedding photographer, my name got thrown in the hat. Gosh, and I am so honored that William and Allison chose me! In every way, these two are my “ideal client”. It is not because they are beautiful (so freaking gorgeous…just look!) or in love (the way William makes Allison giggle!), but the absolute faith they had in me. Allison studied journalism and, together, both of them are drawn to the photojournalism and those real, honest moment. Like myself, they also wanted great portraits. Documentary wedding photography with a good dose of killer portraits? Done and done.
They were married at Wrigley Mansion, a home filled with long, dark hallways and new little places to discover. (It was originally owned by the man who began Wrigley Gum.) It was HOT, hitting 115 degrees outside! That couldn’t stop these two from enjoying their day.
And I must add that everything about their wedding day was intentional. I loved that they thought about what current American tradition says needs to happen and what that meant to them. One of my favorite examples of them taking said tradition and making it personal, was that William’s sister, Christine, stood as the Best Man. Well, Best WOman! Allison also had her sister, Nicky, as her Maid-of-Honor. Surrounded by family and friends, this was a wedding to remember.
Now you get to see a little glimpse into their day. Many more photographs to come. These are just my personal favorites!
I have never known a woman to rock red lips as good as Allison.
Isn’t her ring STUNNING? I have been a long-time fan of this designer, Heidi Gibson Designs.
First dance and in their own world.
This was my last shot of the evening and was the perfect end. <3
