Julie and Tim have long been desert lovers and didn’t question having it as the beautiful backdrop to their October wedding. In discussing with them about their venue, Carefree Resort & Conference Center, Julie told me they wanted to show the guests the magnificence of the desert sunsets. If you live in Arizona or have visited, I am sure you can agree that we really do have the best sunsets in the US!
Julie took some time to write out a note of all the people she wanted to thank during the reception.
Local, unique fruits and vegetables were a fun talking point since most of them the bridal party have never tried!
These jewelry pieces were passed down to Julie and she had hard time deciding exactly which one to wear.

Even though they had a destination wedding, there was still a bridal party of 7 groomsmen and 5 bridesmaids/1 bridesman. It is so telling of how amazing they are to have a community willing to fly around the US for this big day!
Clark, the “bridesman” was also the officiate!
Clark gave an amazing non-traditional spin to the ceremony, making it completely personal to Julie and Tim. He stood in the aisle so that everyone could see the couple- welcoming them into the community.
We dashed off to catch the last bit of sunset light before Julie and Tim joined their cocktail hour.
The desert colors against the copper was brilliant!
And these amazing cakes were made by Sifthouse.
Julie and Tim surprised EVERYONE by busting out the most epic choreographed dance which included this Dirty Dancing lift. You can see just how well received it was by all the guests faces and applause!
I wish every wedding had the Hora! This dance is so lively and gets everyone on the dance floor!
