When I agreed to shoot some headshots for Marinah, a midwife here in Phoenix, I didn’t know what I was getting myself into.  After documenting a birth of one of her clients, I knew Marinah well enough to know she was super sweet and had a generous heart.  I didn’t, however, know how much FUN she would be!!  SO. MUCH. FUN!

I asked Marinah to describe herself in 3 words and she chose dreamer, activist, and rockstar.  Those seriously describe her to a T!  We went downtown to Roosevelt Row since it has so many choices of backdrops and textures.  We started with the ‘professional’ shots that she can use for publications and her speaking engagements, and then transitioned to more fun, relaxed shots.  She rocked her leather jacket and the most vibrant jewelry.

Marinah doesn’t take many local births anymore now that she is President of Midwives Alliance of North America, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try to book her for your birth!  She is one-of-a-kind.  I pray that my heart grows half as large as hers.
