Baby Lennon decided he wanted to make his independence known from the womb, and refused to flip head-down. Jessica tried every trick in the book, with no success. Unfortunately in Arizona, birth centers are not legally allowed to deliver breech babies and there are VERY few OBs left that are trained. Even still, the one OB that was an option for Alex and Jess, would not take first time moms. See, Lennon is a sweet bundle of stubbornness!
Jess went to the hospital to try flipping him, and was scheduled for a gentle c-section a few hours later! The way in which a baby enters the world does not change the emotion and beauty of that day. In fact, there are other elements present at a CS that make for such a great story! Jess was taken into the OR and Alex had to wait outside (for what seemed like FOREVER). I was able to stay with him and document all the nerves and excitement. He was about to meet his son!!
I am so thankful I met this couple and, hopefully with success, was able to give them a birth story they can love for a lifetime.
(Note the two images in the OR were taken by Alex and a nurse, edited by me. Good job, you two!)
